Downtown Kingman First Fridays Voted Best Local Event in 2025 Kingman Miner Reader's Choice Awards

Downtown Kingman is gearing up for another unforgettable season of First Fridays , and we couldn’t be more excited! After an amazing year of community spirit and fun, First Fridays was voted Best Local Event or Festival in the Kingman Miner Reader’s Choice Awards, a huge honor that reflects just how much this vibrant street festival means to our community.

Each month from April through November , Kingman’s historic downtown comes alive on the First Friday of the month with something for everyone: live music, delicious food, exciting shopping, family-friendly fun, rotating themes, and much more.

The Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Evening Mixer series continues to be one of the most popular and welcoming ways for local businesses, professionals, and community members to connect. Held monthly throughout the year, Evening Mixers provide an opportunity to build relationships, support Chamber members, and stay engaged with the local business community in a relaxed and social setting.

Designed to encourage connection and collaboration, the Evening Mixer series reflects the Chamber’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for members to engage with one another while strengthening Kingman’s business network.

A Series Built on Connection and Participation

Evening Mixers take place on the fourth Thursday of each month and rotate among Chamber member businesses and organizations across the Kingman area. By hosting mixers at different locations, the series highlights the diversity of the Chamber’s membership and allows attendees to learn more about local businesses, nonprofits, and organizations that contribute to the community.

These events are open to everyone, including Chamber members, non members, entrepreneurs, employees, and residents who want to get involved and make connections. The kick off event will take place at Mohave College's Advanced Manufacturing Training Center located at 4415 Windrose Lane in Kingman, Arizona. This even truly highlights the connection between education, workforce development, and local industry. While each mixer offers something unique, the true value of the series comes from the continued participation of Chamber members and the relationships built month after month. With a full calendar of mixers planned throughout the year, the Chamber encourages members and community partners to attend regularly, support host businesses, and take advantage of the networking and promotional opportunities these events provide.

Business and Government Meetings Connect Kingman’s Business Community to What Matters Most

Staying informed and engaged in public policy is essential for a strong and resilient business community. The Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Government meetings provide a valuable forum where business leaders, community members, and residents can come together to learn about legislative issues, public policy, and regional topics that directly impact our local economy and quality of life.

Held monthly and open to the public, these meetings are designed to foster understanding, dialogue, and collaboration around issues affecting businesses at the city, county, state, and regional levels. Through informative speakers and open discussion, the Business and Government committee works to ensure the Kingman business community remains informed, connected, and engaged in civic affairs.

A Closer Look at the Purpose of Business and Government

The Business and Government committee focuses on issues that influence economic development, workforce stability, and the overall business climate in the Kingman area. The committee plays an active role in sponsoring candidate forums during election years, inviting elected officials and representatives to share legislative updates, and maintaining a legislative agenda that reflects the priorities of Chamber members.

In addition, the committee helps strengthen regional collaboration through ongoing partnerships with Chambers across Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah as part of the Greater Colorado River Chamber Alliance. These relationships help ensure that Kingman’s business voice is represented beyond our local community.

Recent and Upcoming Speakers

Each Business and Government meeting features knowledgeable speakers who bring insight into timely topics impacting business and government.

At our January 8th meeting attendees heard from Josh Hoffman, Chief Financial Officer of Kingman Regional Medical Center , who presented on the “One Big Beautiful Bill” and discussed its potential impact on healthcare systems and insurance. His presentation offered valuable perspective on how proposed legislation may affect healthcare providers, employers, and the community as a whole.

The February 5th Business & Government Meeting at the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce featured K ingman Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Gretchen Dorner , who presented on the rapid expansion of the Arizona Empowerment Scholarship Account program and its significant impact on KUSD enrollment and funding. Attendees also received updates from Kingman Regional Medical Center, the Jerry Ambrose Veterans Council, and other community partners regarding healthcare advancements, veteran housing, and upcoming events. The meeting highlighted both challenges in public education and continued progress in local development, infrastructure, and business growth across Kingman.

When and Where to Attend

Business and Government meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 7:30 AM at the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce office, located inside the Mohave College Beale Street Center at 309 E. Beale Street. Meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend. A Zoom option is also available with advance registration.
